Privacy Policy
Effective May 4, 2026. This policy describes what information Cellar Door Technologies, Inc. ("Cellar Door," "we," "our") collects when you visit our website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim for plain language — if anything is unclear, email privacy@cellar-door.io.
Who we are
Cellar Door Technologies, Inc. is a Seattle-based technology consulting firm. Our website is hosted on Pantheon and content is managed via Payload CMS. The company controls how the personal data described below is processed. For privacy questions or to exercise any of the rights described in this policy, contact us at privacy@cellar-door.io.
Information we collect
Information you provide directly. When you submit our contact form ("Let's Talk" in the footer) we collect the name and email address (or phone number) you enter, plus the contents of your message. We use this to respond to you.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records routine server logs (IP address, browser/device, page requested, timestamp) for security and reliability. These logs are retained for a short window and aren't tied to your contact form submissions.
Cookies and similar technologies. We set a small number of cookies; the categories are described in "Cookies" below. We do not set advertising cookies of our own.
Information from third parties. If you accept analytics or marketing cookies, our integration partners (Google Analytics, HubSpot) may set their own cookies and collect usage information about your visit. Each partner is described in "Third parties" below.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to inquiries you send via the contact form. - Maintain a contact record in our CRM (HubSpot) so we can follow up on the work we discussed. - Understand which pages and content land best (analytics, when you opt in). - Operate, secure, and improve the website.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies
Strictly necessary — used for the site to function (e.g. session, draft preview, your cookie-consent choice itself). Always on.
Analytics — Google Analytics 4 via Google Tag Manager. Helps us understand which pages are useful. Off by default; only set if you opt in.
Marketing — HubSpot tracking cookies, used to associate your contact form submission with your prior browsing on the site. Off by default; only set if you opt in.
You can change your cookie choices anytime via the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.
Third Parties
We share information with the service providers that help us run the site and the business. None of them sell your information.
- Google (Analytics 4 + Tag Manager) — analytics about how the site is used. Only active when you grant analytics consent. - HubSpot — our CRM. Stores contact form submissions; HubSpot's tracking cookies stitch your inquiry to your visit history when you grant marketing consent. - Amazon Web Services (SES, S3, CloudFront) — sends our transactional email and serves the images on the site. - Pantheon — our hosting provider. Operates the infrastructure that runs the site.
Each provider is bound by their own contractual data-processing terms with us.
Legal bases (for visitors in the EEA / UK)
We process the personal data described above under one of the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interests — running and securing the site, responding to your contact form submission. - Consent — analytics and marketing cookies. You can withdraw consent any time via the footer "Cookie preferences" link. - Contract — when we're discussing or delivering work for you as a client.
For visitors in California, the same uses apply; we don't sell or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Your rights
Subject to local law, you may have the right to:
- Request a copy of the information we hold about you. - Ask us to correct or delete that information. - Object to or restrict certain processing. - Withdraw consent (where consent is the legal basis we relied on). - Lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
To exercise any of these, email privacy@cellar-door.io. We'll respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We keep contact form submissions and CRM records for as long as we have an active relationship with you, plus a reasonable period after to satisfy our legal and tax obligations. Server logs are retained for a short operational window. Cookie-based identifiers expire on the schedule set by each cookie (described in your browser's cookie inspector or in the providers' own policies).
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information, email privacy@cellar-door.io and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. For material changes we'll surface a notice on the site or notify clients we have an active relationship with.
